Everything is F*cked : A book about Hope by Mark Manson

M y quest of Self-help books brought me this gem. I've read the prequel (The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck) around last year which was eye-opening. It gave me a lot of things to think about and to find that answers, I found myself reading this book and needless to say, this book took me on an amazing journey. It presented me with the answers that I didn't know I was looking for in the first place which was yet another mind-altering experience.          ABOUT THE BOOK As the title of the book suggests, the book is about 'Hope' and how we as humans, try to grab onto every little thing which can provide us with hope. Mark highlights that life without hope is " cold " and a " bleak nihilism " which brings us endless suffering and indirectly force us to cling onto false narratives of hope. He points out that in order to have the light of positive hope, we first need to trust our ability to tell wrong from the right. Mark also shed some light on how our ...

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

T his book have ruined me but in a good way. I can't stop thinking about it and about could have been. I didn't know what was in store for me (that is what happens when you don't read the summary before the novel) when I started with the novel. This novel was recommended to me so many times that I was like fuck it! and dove head first into it. Initially, I was confused, what the hype was all about because it came across to me as any other romance novel with a bit of drama in it but boy! was I wrong. This book took me on a ride, the kind of ride where halfway through it, I was crying for it to stop and by the end of it, I was in a daze. I still am! For those who haven't read it yet, I would like to warn you to brace yourself and buckle up your seat belts real tight. Especially those who've got a fragile heart like me.  About the Character- Lily Blossom Bloom a fierce twenty three old girl who wants to live her life and make it count. she is hopelessly romantic w...

The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas

T he book found me, yeah that's exactly how I came across this book. The universe was seriously aligning itself in such a way that I found this book. Ok! may be I'm exaggerating a lil' bit but this book fell on my lap when I was least expecting it. This is my first time ever reading Elena Armas' book so I was pretty excited and to say the least, the book stood upto my expectation. "I'll be your date to the wedding." Yup! That's how it all started. That phrase marks the beginning of the enemies turned friends turned lovers relationship that Catalina Mártin and Aaron Blackford shares with each other. The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas  is marked with humourous plots, dramatic twists, intriguing characters with scorching chemistry and hair pulling suspense about the backstories of the characters. The storytelling is amusing and alluring and is filled with a hefty dose of witty remarks. The Story has been told from Lina's Point of View (first...

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson

R eading a self-help book was my New Year's resolution (weird, I know), but  I was putting it off since the beginning of the year because my attention span is like that of a puppy, I loose interest way too quickly so reading a self-help book was a challenge for  me in itself. Somehow, after going back and forth several times, I took the first step and here I am, with the review of my first ever self-help book.  The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson is a novel which not only endeavours to make us perceive the right way of living our lives, but it also makes us aware of many such truths which we probably used to know our entire life but we never paid much heed to them. Whether it is the truth about our happiness or about our problems, the mystery hidden behind our sufferings, the wrong decision that we usually ends up making in our lives and the biggest truth in the world that people never want it to prove itself to be true - Death, Mark has presented all the...
